Walters, an award-winning developer based in Barnegat, N.J., has completed Cornerstone At Seaside Heights, a new premium age and income-restricted apartment community. Walters redeveloped the site which involved the demolition of several aging buildings to create the barrier island’s only new residential building for seniors.

“The completion of Cornerstone At Seaside Heights is important because it not only increases access to affordable, high-quality housing and services for seniors, but it is also continuing the revitalization of Seaside Heights,” said Joseph Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing for Walters.

Located on the corner of Bay Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue, the modern building includes 91 apartments and community space for socializing, using computers and exercising. Designed to achieve LEED® and ENERGY STAR® certifications, the building consists of one- and two-bedroom residences. Apartments are still available with prices ranging from $995 for one bedroom and $1,250 for two bedrooms.

Residents enjoy high-end interior finishes such as granite cabinets with backsplash, ceramic tile baths, resilient plank flooring in the kitchen, and blinds in each unit. Some of the units have balconies overlooking the Barnegat Bay. Light-filled common areas are open, connecting a variety of spaces such as the fitness center, club room, and vaulted lobby. The property features two expansive outdoor decks with seating for residents. Other amenities include planned activities, on-site parking, elevators, secured key fob access, intercom entry and cameras.

Cornerstone At Seaside Heights is designed to be sustainable, helping to improve the health and well being of residents while saving energy and environmental resources. The use of ENERGY STAR® appliances also aids with long-term reductions in utility costs.

As part of a seashore community, the property’s close proximity to the beach and boardwalk allows for a wide range of activities for active adults. Residents can walk to Seaside Heights Beach, hike the trails at nearby Island Beach State Park, ride bikes on the boardwalk and shop and dine along the Boulevard.
